Walsall Energy Action Project marks 1-year anniversary
Published on
The Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP) has celebrated its 1-year anniversary this month.

In that time, the project has provided more than 3,000 residents with energy-saving and climate action advice.
To continue reaching more residents, the project now has its own website, which can be found at: https://weap.walsall.gov.uk
The website has helpful links to help with home efficiency and can even help residents find their nearest ‘Community Energy Hub’ where direct 1-1 help is available.
“ It is very pleasing to see this project go from strength to strength, providing residents with much-needed support amidst high energy costs.
“This project provides energy cafes where people can get advice as part of groups, delivers 1-1 sessions and even home visits.
“These home visits help us reach some of our most vulnerable residents and involve an assessment of the home in order to suggest ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce household energy costs. “
The WEAP is a partnership between Ryecroft NRC, Aaina Community Hub LTD, Brownhills Community Association, Darlaston All Active, Nash Dom CIC, Walsall Working For Change CIC, and Walsall Council.
Moving forward, the project will expand into more community venues and launch energy-saving workshops, where residents can create items to help with energy efficiency in their homes.
Residents can book a free home visit by filling out this form. The Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP) team will be in contact to arrange an appointment. A free follow-up visit will be arranged in six months to track progress. Book a free home visit here
