Walsall Council teams up with HomeServe to transform Walsall’s green spaces
Published on
Walsall Council’s Healthy Spaces team has teamed up with HomeServe to transform green spaces in the borough.
Across four different dates, 54 volunteers contributed a total of 132 volunteer hours. These volunteers collected 55 bags of rubbish completed activities such as path clearing and pathway edging at Reedswood Park and Pelsall North Common.
“ I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in these activities and to HomeServe for getting involved.
People who take part in activities like this find there are many benefits including making a difference to the borough, better mental and physical health and a greater sense of community.
By improving our green spaces, we support biodiversity and create a more sustainable environment for future generations. “
HomeServe has pledged to continue its support moving forward as part of Walsall Council’s corporate social responsibility programme. More events are planned leading up to Christmas and larger-scale activities are scheduled for the summer.
“ At HomeServe, we're incredibly proud of the difference our team makes to the neighbourhood around us. Walsall is our home, and by working together, we can ensure these areas remain clean, accessible, and beautiful for everyone to enjoy, now and in the future. “
“ Litter picking might seem like a small act, but seeing the immediate difference really hit home. The streets looked cleaner, and knowing we were making a real impact in our own neighbourhood was incredibly rewarding. “
