Joining two other panel members, the postholder would review the responsibilities and demands upon Councillors time in order to recommend to the Council a fair and equitable scheme of allowances.

This is a short-term review with an expected time commitment of a few days.  During the review, the Panel will be supported by the Director of Governance and review evidence and evaluate information to support its recommendations on allowances and expenses to be received by Councillors. The work of the Panel culminates in a public report to Full Council.

This is a perfect opportunity to gain insight into the work of Councillors and ultimately, the level of allowances received.
