Dates of when the council will be open and closed during the May bank holiday period.

Adult and Childrens Services

Normal service hours are affected by both May bank holidays.

Our Adult and Children's Services opening times over this period are:

Monday 6th May – CLOSED

Tuesday 7th May – Standard opening hours resume – 08.45 – 17.15

Monday 27th May – CLOSED

Tuesday 28th May – Standard opening hours resume – 08.45 – 17.15

Our out of hours service will be available throughout the time period we are closed - However, if you require urgent help or advice in relation to Children and Young People you can contact 0300 555 2922.

Please call at any time when our main offices are closed.

If you need to report any urgent issues on public land or highways within Walsall whilst the council is closed, please call 01922 650000 and you will be transferred to our out of hours team. 

Walsall Leisure Facilities

Oak Park and Bloxwich Active Living Centres

Monday 6th May – 7.00 – 15.30

Monday 27th May – 7.00 – 15.30

Darlaston and Walsall Gala Swimming and Fitness Centres

Monday 6th May – CLOSED

Monday 27th May – CLOSED

Bin, waste and refuse collections

All household and garden bin collections scheduled to take place on a Monday will take place over both bank holidays - there are no changes to collection days.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s) will be open to the public as normal. 

Walsall Markets

Walsall Market will open and close as follows for the forthcoming bank holidays:

Monday 6th May (early May bank holiday) – CLOSED

Monday 27th May (spring bank holiday) – CLOSED 

Please note that Bloxwich and Willenhall markets do not operate on a Monday.

Walsall Arboretum

The Walsall Arboretum café and visitor centre will be open as usual every day of the May bank holiday period.
