Walsall Council can help you with your secondary school application

Published on

Walsall parents and carers are invited to drop-in sessions with council's school admissions team to receive help with completing their online secondary school application.

School admissions

If your child is starting secondary school in September 2025, you must apply online between 2 September and 31 October 2024.

Parents/carers can visit the following drop-in sessions to meet a member of the team, who will be able to assist with their application:

Tuesday 15 October 2024
• Willenhall Library – 9:30am-12:30pm
• Darlaston Library – 1-4pm

Wednesday 16 October 2024
• Lichfield Street Hub – 9am-5pm

Thursday 17 October 2024
• Blakenall Village Centre – 1-4pm

“ The deadline for secondary school applications is the end of October – which is going to come around fast!

Applications must be submitted online, and our admissions team are hosting drop-in sessions for parents or carers to go along with any questions or queries they may have.

We highly recommend applying on time, choosing your most local school, and making use of the 5 preferences for secondary school applications.

Parents often tell us they only choose one school on the application form, in the hope this will guarantee them a place at that school. This isn’t the case or how our admissions process works, so please do make use of the preference system. “
