None of the three offenders reside in Walsall. The cases were taken to court after Fixed Penalty Notices issued for depositing and leaving litter were left unpaid.

The hearings took place on 13 March 2026 at Birmingham & Solihull Magistrates’ Court.

Mr Javen Simms, of Ashfield Avenue, Birmingham, was convicted for depositing litter on 24 July 2025 in Garden Street, Walsall. He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £276.72 in costs, totalling £584.72.

Mr Naveed Hussain, of Mafeking Road, Hadley, Telford, was convicted for depositing litter on 4 May 2025 in Spout Lane, Walsall. He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £276.72 in costs, totalling £584.72.

Mr Adam Mosaid, of Fordbrough Lane, Birmingham, was convicted for depositing litter on 21 March 2025 in High Street, Pelsall, Walsall. He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £276.72 in costs, totalling £584.72.

A spokesperson for Walsall Council said, “A large number of Fixed Penalty Notices are paid without the need for court action. Where individuals ignore notices, cases can be progresses to court should reminders be ignored.”

Revenue from fines is reinvested into enforcement activity, including investigations and action to tackle environmental crime across the borough.

Residents can dispose of waste responsibly at the borough’s Household Waste Recycling Centres on Fryers Road in Bloxwich and Middlemore Lane in Aldridge, where general waste, recycling and bulky items are accepted. A bulky waste collection service is also available for households unable to transport larger items.

Households needing extra bin capacity due to a growing family or medical requirements can apply for a larger bin via the council’s website.
