Return of much-loved event amongst activities at Walsall Council venues this Easter
Published on
Holi and Eid celebrations, seasonal workshops and an Easter family fun day are amongst events at Walsall Council’s visitor attractions over the Easter holidays.
Returning for the first time since 2019, Walsall Leather Museum’s much-loved Easter Fun Day takes place on Monday 1 April, Easter Monday. Taking place from 10.30am-3.30pm, the free event will include Punch & Judy and magic shows, walkabout entertainment, balloon modelling and a drop-in art activity.
Over the Easter holidays Walsall Leather Museum will also host a Have-a-go Leathercraft Drop-in (Tuesday 26 March 2024, 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm. £1.50 – no need to book), and Superhero Peg-doll drop-in (Wednesday 3 April 2024, 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm. £1.50 – no need to book).
Young visitors to The New Art Gallery Walsall will have the opportunity get creative and learn new skills with an array of workshops celebrating Easter or inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibitions. Holiday activities also include celebrations of Holi, the festival of colours (Saturday 23 March 2024, 12-4pm. Free, drop-in) with rangoli and mandala workshops as well as performances by Bollywood Dreams Dance Company. There will also be an Eid community day on Saturday 6 April (12-4pm. Free, drop-in) anticipating the end of Ramadan, with the opportunity to make Eid Mubarak cards, gift tags and decorations with artist Nilupa Yasmin as well as live music, mehndi and more.
“ There’s so much to do and see across our venues this Easter and it’s fantastic to see the return of the Leather Museum’s popular Easter Fun Day. The majority of events at the Museum and Gallery are low cost or completely free and offer the opportunity for children to learn new skills, get creative and learn more about our area. “
