Residents encouraged to take part in free Tri-it events and activities in Walsall this summer

Published on

A series of events will be taking place across Walsall this summer to encourage residents to get active by trying out new and fun sports and activities.

Tri-it Walsall

The ‘Tri-It Walsall’ events, which started in 2022 and were inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, will be taking place this July and August at parks and greenspaces in Bloxwich, Pleck, Pheasey and Willenhall.

Activities will include inflatables and funfair rides; plus local community sport and activity groups will be in attendance. Refreshments will be available.

The much-loved splashpads at Bloxwich and Willenhall will also be open between 11am and 5pm while the Tri-It events are taking place for families and children to enjoy.

“ “We are delighted to bring back the Tri-It events for a third year running. These events have been popular among residents since we introduced them as a legacy to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

This year also sees the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics take place, which offers more opportunities to inspire residents to try out different activities and sports, many of which are offered by our local community and sports groups.

We want to encourage everyone in Walsall to live active and fulfilling lives and I invite residents to go along to one of the events, meet providers and most importantly to discover new activities to try this summer. “

Councillor Gary Flint, Portfolio Holder for Health and Wellbeing
Walsall Council
