New children’s play area and outdoor gym in Pleck Park officially open
Published on
Residents in Pleck will benefit from the opening of a new play area and outdoor gym in Pleck Park.

The project has been funded by Walsall Council and supported by a £60,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, conservation and heritage projects, through the Landfill Communities Fund.
A new children’s play area and an outdoor gym have been installed at the park and are now open to the public.
The play area features a range of equipment, including toddler and junior swings, a roundabout, a wheelchair accessible roundabout, two castle climbing frames, sensory play panels and more.
The project has also seen the old play area repurposed into a dog-friendly user area.
“ I’m delighted this project has been delivered. We now have a park we can enjoy and be proud of.
“I’d like to thank FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding, helping to make this programme a reality.
“I would encourage residents, now that the weather is getting better, to get out and use the facilities. Enjoy them and look after them. “
A consultation on the play area design was carried out, ensuring that children’s views were heard and informed the project.
Cheryl Raynor, FCC Community Foundations grant manager, says: “We are delighted to have worked with the Council to help fund this project for the local community to enjoy. It’s great to see it now open and available for use. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the consultation to help shape the facilities, we hope you enjoy them!"
