New Chief Executive of Walsall Council – subject to full council ratification

Emma Bennett is to be the new Chief Executive of Walsall Council.
Emma will be joining the Council from the City of Wolverhampton Council where she is currently Executive Director of Families. Emma will replace Deborah Hindson who has been interim Chief Executive at Walsall Council since February 2023.
Following an extensive recruitment process the appointment will be recommended to a full meeting of Walsall Council next month for ratification.
Emma is an experienced senior local government leader and has worked in the public sector for more than two decades.

Emma is expected to join the Council in the autumn.

Deborah Hindson became Interim Chief Executive replacing Dr Helen Paterson who left the Council in February to become the Chief Executive of Northumberland County Council.
