More than 6200 individual places have been booked onto Walsall Council’s Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme ahead of the summer holidays.
*Eligible families were able to book activities from 20 June, and since, more than 6200 places have been booked onto the hugely successful scheme, for activities running between 29 July until 22 August 2024.
The council works with over 70 providers in the borough to offer children and young people, fun, locally-based activities, while providing the opportunity for learning and developing new skills.
As part of the programme, children are also given the opportunity to try out healthy and exciting foods and recipes when attending activities.
The programme is aimed at children and young people ages 5 to 16 years, eligible for free school meals to offer healthy food and enriching activities for one week over the Easter and Christmas breaks and four weeks during the summer holidays.
“ The school holidays are long, and we’re really pleased to be able to offer our HAF programme to families in Walsall who need support this summer.
“The scheme is brilliant, and our providers offer such fun and engaging activities to children and young people, where they can make friends, enjoy themselves, learn something new and have a nutritious meal.
