More than 350 attend Apprenticeship show in Walsall

Published on

More than 350 people have attended the council’s first Apprenticeship event of 2026.

Trade show set up at the Apprenticeship Show in the New Art Gallery

Hosted at The New Art Gallery on 5 February, the Apprenticeship Show brought together prospective employers and providers all under one roof for people to find out about apprenticeships and training opportunities available to them.

Organisations who attended include: The Royal Air Force, Barnados, Walsall College, In Comm, Birmingham Electrical Training, Performance through People and Salutem.

“ It’s really encouraging to see such a good turnout for an event like this and that people are eager to learn more about local opportunities into work and training. The Apprenticeship Show had a great offer of local, regional and national employers and providers across a number of sectors such as construction, engineering, logistics, care and technology.

We remain focused on bridging the gap between education and employment, ensuring that everyone, especially young people, have access to the right advice and opportunities to succeed.

Our next event is the well-established Walsall Works Expo, the largest job fair in the Black Country, taking place on 19 March at Walsall College, so if you couldn’t make the Apprenticeship Show, sign up to the Expo event and come and meet over 40 prospective employers and 30 other service providers and find the right opportunity for you. “

The plan aims to increase employment to 75% of the working-age population in the region, addressing unemployment caused by long-term sickness and inactivity. Walsall Works is also offering paid placement opportunities for 18-21-year-olds in Walsall as part of the West Midlands Youth Trailblazer programme.
