More than 200 IT products donated to local charities thanks to council scheme
Published on
A free scheme launched by Walsall Council has seen 200 items of IT equipment donated to charities and education providers in the borough.

Eligible organisations have been able to apply for IT equipment such as tablets, keyboard and mice sets, and computer monitors.
Since its launch in December 2024, 227 pieces of equipment have been successfully donated.
One local group who have benefitted from the scheme is the Walsall Photographic Society. The community group applied for laptops so members could develop their photography editing skills, and as a group, show each other how to use different software and programmes.
“ Technology is one of the biggest helps to us as a council.
That being said, we all know how quickly technology advances these days, which sometimes leaves us with some additional perfectly functioning equipment, which schools and other charitable organisations could put to good use.
We’ve set up a free scheme where people can apply for specific equipment which they can use in their day-to-day business.
The scheme is still open, so if there is something you think you or your organisation could benefit from, please get in touch. “
Charities and education providers can enquire or request an application form by emailing the council’s digital and technology services team at: DaTSAssetTeam@walsall.gov.uk.
