Merry Christmas from the Mayor of Walsall

A Christmas message from the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Chris Towe

As the festive period draws closer, I would like to take a moment to wish the residents of Walsall a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As 2023 comes to a close I am reminded of all the wonderful things that have taken place across our borough this past year.

In May we witnessed the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, as Deputy Mayor at the time I had the honour of attending the Royal Coronation Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, which was a wonderful celebration.

Throughout the year, Walsall residents have generously donated to my chosen charities, helping four fantastic local charities to continue to deliver much needed services.

And of course, we welcomed hundreds of people across the borough in November to remember and honour the brave men and women who have given their lives in conflict.

I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people this year. It has been a pleasure to celebrate and recognise the achievements of many hard-working individuals and organisations who have gone above and beyond to positively contribute to the local community.

It has been an honour to act as Mayor of Walsall for 2023/24 and I look forward to welcoming the New Year and all it has to offer.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New Year. Best wishes, the Mayor of Walsall Councillor Chris Towe.
