The new Carers Hub offers face-to-face support for unpaid carers and held a launch event on Tuesday 5 July 2022.

Forward Carers, an award-winning not-for-profit organisation, was awarded the contract to run the new service from 1 July 2022 onwards and provides support to unpaid carers living in Walsall, or providing care to someone living there. They work in collaboration with the regional charity, Midland Mencap as the council’s chosen delivery partner.

“ Unpaid carers play a vital role in our local communities and it’s important that help and support is available for both the carer and the person they care for. Carers face many challenges, and the new Carers Hub will run support groups and provide the practical, financial and emotional support they need to care for a loved one. “

Councillor Keir Pedley
Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, Walsall Council

Carers can register with the service for free by calling 01922 616 798.

“ We are delighted to be awarded the contract by Walsall Council to run a new Walsall Carers Hub Service alongside our partner Midland Mencap. Walsall Carers Hub will support unpaid carers by offering information and guidance including welfare advice, wellbeing checks, providing digital support and other provision to improve the wellbeing of carers in Walsall. “
