Litter Picking Stations

Published on

Walsall Council has launched six litter picking stations allowing the borough’s residents to take action to cleaning up their local area.

The litter picking stations are located within the district and community libraries of Aldridge, Bloxwich, Brownhills, Darlaston, Streetly and Willenhall allowing community groups, businesses and the public to borrow litter picking equipment.  The equipment is available on a loan basis at no cost and hopes to encourage people to tackle litter in their areas and take pride in their neighbourhoods.

Councillor Gary Flint, Portfolio Holder, Wellbeing, Leisure, and Public Spaces at Walsall Council said “I’m delighted to the re-launch of this scheme.  Having litter stations in key areas will empower members of the community to organise their own litter picks which will help build on community spirit.”
