Just few days left till Walsall MakerFest 2024

There are just a few days left before Walsall MakerFest kicks off in the Walsall Town Centre

The free one-day festival will celebrate the rich and diverse creative community within Walsall and the Black Country. Taking place on Saturday 7 September 2024 from 11am-5pm, visitors will be treated to live music, dance, a makers’ market, street food, workshops, storytelling, fashion shows and pop-up shops.

Featuring 40 local makers from Walsall and the surrounding area, expect a diverse array of ceramics, jewellery, beauty products, prints, cakes and more. 

Over 120 dancers from 16 dance companies will storm the Let’s Dance stage in Gallery Square, where there will be a fantastic showcase of dance featuring including breakdancing from Break Da Kode, a showcase of energetic Bhangra from Ultimate Bhangra and performance of new work ‘The Elephant and the Drummer’ from Sonia Sabri Company. 

Walsall town centre will also come alive with outdoor physical theatre featuring 13-foot giant puppet Eko, part of Autin Dance Theatre’s performance of ‘Out of the Deep Blue. As well as promenades through the town at at 11.50am, 12.15pm and 2.25pm, there will be a full performance of the piece at 2.50pm at the Let’s Dance stage in Gallery Square.As well as promenades through the town at 11.50am, 12.15pm and 2.25pm, there will be a full performance of the piece at 2.50pm at the Let’s Dance stage in Gallery Square.
