Free 1-2-1 energy advice home visits for Walsall residents
Published on
Walsall residents can now access free 1-2-1 home visits and expert advice on energy saving and climate action.

Each home visit, delivered through The Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP), includes an assessment using thermal imaging, air quality checks, and carbon monoxide detectors. This allows the energy advice officers to provide expert advice and personalised recommendations.
The project is delivered using £1.5 million from the National Lottery Community Fund, helping local people reduce their energy bills whilst making their homes more efficient. After launching in April 2024, the project has delivered 721 1-2-1 advise session and 81 group sessions.
Residents can also access 1-2-1 and group advice sessions at six community centres across Walsall. The addition of home visits makes the service more accessible to those unable to attend community sessions.
“ This project helps bring much-needed information to our residents, while also giving people the opportunity to talk things through.
“These home visits help us reach some of our most vulnerable residents to get the advice out to more people.
“I would encourage anyone who feels they may benefit from this service to reach out, we are here to help. The project also offers group sessions and Energy Cafes, with more information on this available online. “
The WEAP is a partnership between Ryecroft NRC, Aaina Community Hub LTD, Brownhills Community Association, Darlaston All Active, Nash Dom CIC, Walsall Working For Change CIC, and Walsall Council.
Support offered includes:
- Tips to save energy and reduce costs
- Help understanding energy bills
- Advice on improving efficiency in the home
- Support on reducing carbon footprint
Residents can book a free home visit by filling out this form. The Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP) team will be in contact to arrange an appointment. A free follow-up visit will be arranged in six months to track progress.
