Officiated by the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Anthony Harris and the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, David Frost, 63 residents will become British citizens Monday 13 January 2025.

Previously, ceremonies have been held in Walsall's Register Office, however moving them to the Town Hall, which opened its doors 1903, will make them a more poignant occasion.

During the ceremony new citizens make an oath or affirmation of allegiance and a pledge to respect the rights, freedoms and laws of the UK. New citizens are then presented with their certificates, followed by a chance for photographs with the Mayor.

“ This is a truly special occasion for all involved. Becoming a British citizen is a significant milestone, and we are honoured to welcome these individuals to our community.
Walsall is a diverse and welcoming borough, and we are proud to celebrate this important moment with our new citizens. “

The Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Anthony Harris said
