Council launches consultation on Walsall Town Centre Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)
Published on
Walsall Council has launched a public consultation asking for residents’ feedback on whether it should extend or amend its current Walsall town centre Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).
The council first implemented the PSPO covering part of Walsall Town Centre on 28 September 2017. It was then extended in 2020 and then amended in 2023 following previous public consultations.
“ The Order was originally put in place to help tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour in Walsall town centre. It ensures we can all use and enjoy the town centre safely and places restrictions and requirements on the way people behave within the area covered by the Order.
“So that we can continue to keep safe those who live, work in and visit the town centre regularly, we would like to hear residents’ views on whether to extend or amend the current PSPO. “
An online survey which opened on Monday 22 June and closes on Sunday 26 July 2026, seeks residents’ feedback on the current Order as well as the area it covers. The survey is available to complete on the council's website, with paper copies available to pick up in all council libraries.
