Published on

A free event to celebrate all things apples is to take place at Walsall Arboretum.

Apple based good on sale last year

The Walsall Arboretum User Group (WAUG) Apple Day event will take place on Saturday 19 October 2024, between 11.30am and 3.30pm at the Orchard Pavilion.

The day will see loads of apple-themed activities such as fishing, chucking, apple bobbing and children’s crafts. Free tasty apple food treats prepared by Walsall College will be available from 1pm to 2pm.  Special guests include the “Voices Entwined” choir and even a visit from a Queen Victoria historical impersonator.

There will be an ice cream van on site, hot refreshments and a free bouncy council to keep little ones entertained. Those in attendance who fancy getting active can also have a go on a juicing bike. Apple goods and apple juice (all from the orchard) will also be on sale.

“ It’s almost time for the annual Walsall Arboretum User Group Apple Day event.

"There will be plenty for people of all ages to get involved with, we’re looking forward to a really fun day.

“We will have free apple-based foods prepared by Walsall College, using apples picked from the orchard in the arboretum.

“So, to anyone who is interested, I invite you to come down and have a blast down the arboretum. “

Jon Hemming, Chairman of the Walsall Arboretum User Group

Walsall Arboretum, which celebrates 150 years as a public park this year, is visited by more than 1 million people a year.

Dr Bike will be at the park throughout Apple Day, offering free checks to anyone whose bike needs some attention.
