On Wednesday 17 December 2025, volunteers from the charity will be delivering 330 free baby care packs to Walsall Council’s four Family Hubs as well as another 180 to community shops before Christmas. The free baby care packs are being given to some of the borough’s most vulnerable families to support them amidst the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

“ Walsall Council is dedicated to supporting vulnerable families across the borough who are currently experiencing poverty.

That is why we are so grateful to Care Packs for the continued support we receive with the free baby care packs provided. These packs will make a vital difference to families in our community who are facing financial hardship, and all in time for Christmas. “

Councillor Mark Statham, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services at Walsall Council

“ At the heart of our work is a simple belief - every baby deserves the best possible start in life. Our baby care packs are more than essential items, they are gifts of dignity, hope, and care. Through this work, we aim to ensure that every baby and child is welcomed with the essentials they need and the message that they are valued. “

Jay Rohman, Chair for Care Packs

The free baby care packages are filled with essential, staple items for babies and young children including baby wipes, nappy sacks, cotton wool pads, shampoo and wash, lotion, and sponges - providing approximately £8 worth of necessities per pack.

In July 2025, Care Packs supported Walsall Council with donations of free baby care packs, and now the charity has ensured Christmas comes early to those still struggling in the continued cost-of-living crisis.
