Trading Standards - Consumer Advice and Protection

Pages in this section relate to consumer advice and protection. For business information and advice about trading standards law please visit our trading standards pages.
What we do:
In order to ensure that Walsall residents and businesses are given continued support and guidance on Trading Standards issues we have entered into an agreement with one of our key partners, the Citizens Advice Consumer Service, who provide free confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues both over the phone and online.
Consumers will receive advice directly from the Citizens Advice Consumer Service. These enquiries are shared with Trading Standards who will monitor and assess the information received.
Where a consumer can show that they are unable to deal with a matter themselves or with help of friends, family, etc., Trading Standards may be able to offer some additional support.
If you want advice, make a complaint or report a breach of Trading Standards law, please contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Service via one or more of the following methods:
Telephone – Freephone
0808 223 1133
(Lines are open Monday-Friday 9.00am to 5.00 pm.)
Text phone - dial 18001 followed by 0808 223 1133
Post - you can only send letters that are about energy or post problems.  The Consumer Service does not deal with letters about any other type of problem.
Further information on consumer rights is available on the Citizens Advice Consumer Service website, which also provides template letters designed to help you resolve your enquiry
