Guidance on choosing accommodation and additional payments - Provisions for reviewing the agreement

  1. As with any financial arrangement, an agreement to make a ‘top-up’ payment must be reviewed. A local authority must set out in writing details of how the arrangements will be reviewed, what may trigger a review, and circumstances when any party can request a review.
  2. Local authorities should also consider how often it may be appropriate to review the arrangements. In doing so it should bear in mind how often it reviews other financial arrangements, such as deferred payment agreements. These should take place at least annually and in line with wider reviews of the financial assessment.
