Register a stillborn baby

A stillborn child is legally defined as "a child born after the 24th week of pregnancy who did not show any signs of life at the time of being born".

To register a stillbirth in Walsall Borough, phone the register office on 0300 555 2847 for an appointment. 

You must bring the medical certificate issued by the doctor or midwife to your appointment.

There is no charge for the registration but there is a fee if you want a certificate. Only the child's parents (as named in the registration) can apply for a certificate.
