All engagement has now closed.

How we gathered the views of local people

The listening and engagement phase ran from 1 May to 30 September 2022. The formal phase of consultation was in March and April 2023.

Since May 2022 there’s been:

• a boroughwide household survey and online survey
• engagement with primary and secondary school pupils
• community led engagement activities
• discussions at whg leg coffee mornings
• focus groups at mosques and temples
• displays and comment cards in all council buildings open to the public
• attendance at public events including Walsall Pride

What we do with the information you've given us

The views you express individually confidential. Walsall Council will use your comments and combine it with lots of other feedback to inform the draft borough plan for 2040. You may be asked to answers a few voluntary questions about you which will help us better understand the views of different groups of people - your answers will not be linked to you personally. All hard copy data will be captured electronically and hard copies destroyed. Electronic data will be kept securely by Walsall Council for as long as required and shared with partner organisations for the purpose of WAW 2040 only.
