New online options for Walsall residents to report concerns to the council

Published on

Residents can now report a wider range of community protection concerns to Walsall Council online, including noise nuisance, rubbish on private land, anti-social behaviour and problems with taxis and licensed businesses.

Report it. Community protection issues and concerns. Your local concerns, reported online

The forms guide residents through the information needed to assess their report, allow supporting evidence such as photographs to be uploaded and provide a reference number when a report is submitted. They are available online 24 hours a day.

The new forms cover several areas of council work, including noise, smoke and artificial light nuisance, rubbish build-up and fly-tipping on private land and overgrown vegetation from private land that blocks roads, paths, signs or street lighting.

Residents can also report anti-social behaviour, unauthorised encampments, concerns about licensed businesses and activities, and issues involving taxis and private hire vehicles licensed by Walsall Council.

Once a report is submitted, residents will receive a confirmation email and reference number. The council will review and triage the information provided and contact residents about their case.

“ Residents are our eyes and ears on the ground, and these new forms make it easier to report issues affecting our neighbourhoods and bring them to our attention.

Everyone should feel safe in their home and community, and we are committed to taking action and tackling issues and behaviour that affects others.

The more detail residents can provide when reporting a concern, the better we can assess the issue and determine what action is needed. “

Councillor Ian Benton, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene and Enforcement at Walsall Council

Residents can access the new forms through the council’s website:

Anyone who needs help using the forms can visit a Walsall Connected hub or contact the council’s Customer Experience Centre on 01922 650000.

The online forms are intended for non-urgent concerns. Criminal activity should be reported to West Midlands Police. If a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
