Advanced bookings is only available for pool sessions where capacity is an issue and sessions are likely to become full. Bookable sessions are clearly marked on pool timetables.

For non-bookable sessions you can simply turn up and swim at your convenience.

During Swim Academy Lessons (between 4pm and 6pm) lane swimming will restricted to one lane for the public. This is due to the space required for lessons.

Pool timetable changes due to events 

Child admission policy

• All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the pool by a responsible adult at all times.
• In the Bloxwich, Oak Park and Darlaston teaching pools 1 adult may accompany 3 children aged 4 to 7 years or 2 children under the age of 4.
• In all other pools 1 adult may accompany 2 children aged 4 to 7 years or 1 child under the age of 4.

Fun session rules

• No armbands allowed on the inflatable.
• Children should be competent swimmers.
• Children should be able to swim 25 metres comfortably.
• Children should be able to jump into deep water and tread water.

Walsall Gala Swimming and Fitness Centre

Young people aged 11 to 15 years can use our leisure centres, but must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a paying adult aged 18 years or older. An 'all about you' meeting with our fitness staff must be arranged prior to attending the first session.  

We also offer junior gym sessions where young people are supervised by a member of our fitness team.

Bloxwich Active Living Centre runs Acti-Kids fitness sessions suitable for young people aged between 8 and 15 years. These sessions are supervised by a member of our fitness team.

Sessions involve either a supervised session in the gym or an organised fitness class.

We have saunas at Oak Park Active Living Centre and Walsall Gala Swimming and Fitness Centre.

Each person will need to have up to 3 sessions with our instructor to be able to use the equipment correctly. Following this, you'll be able to use the Health Hub at any time during our opening hours.

Indoor bowls will resume from 1 October 2024 at both sites. Booking required.

Roller skating takes place in our sports halls. It's open to all ages, and children under 7 must be supervised at all times.

Skate hire is available. Sizes range from toddler size 5 to men's 13.
