This Valentine's Day, Walsall Council celebrates the many reasons why over 280,000 people call Walsall home. From its vibrant leisure attractions and green spaces to its strong sense of community and diversity, Walsall offers something for everyone.

1. Nature and thriving wildlife. Walsall boasts of 43 parks and green spaces, offering easy access to nature. One of its biggest attractions is Walsall Arboretum, covering 170 acres of land and home to over 10,000 shrubs and trees. In 2024, 11 parks in the borough received the prestigious Green Flag Award. 

2. Arts, culture, and leisure. Walsall boasts a variety of attractions from The New Art Gallery Walsall, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Leather Museum, and Walsall Arena for performing arts, as well as four leisure centres located across the borough. 

3. Family-friendly fun. With four Family Hubs, numerous parks, playgrounds, and family-oriented events, Walsall is a fantastic place to raise a family. Walsall Council is committed to creating safe spaces and fun activities for children. 4. Regeneration and development. A £1.5 billion regeneration programme is transforming Walsall, enhancing infrastructure and boosting the economy. Ongoing projects are revitalizing the town centre, creating new opportunities.

5. Cultural diversity and community cohesion. Walsall is a multicultural place where people from diverse backgrounds come together to create a vibrant and inclusive community. Numerous cultural events and festivals celebrate this diversity throughout the year including the continental street market and Vaisakhi.

About Walsall’s Family Hubs
Family Hubs offer a welcoming space where families can access advice and support from a range of services. The Hubs have been set up to support families with children aged 0-19 years, or 0-24 years for those children with special educational needs and disabilities.

About The New Art Gallery Walsall  

The New Art Gallery Walsall presents, collects and interprets historic, modern and contemporary art in innovative and challenging ways, welcoming visitors from all over the globe as well as locally. They aim to increase the understanding and enjoyment of arts and culture through a dynamic exhibition, education and events programme.  

Open: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-5pm; Sundays 12 to 4pm. Closed Mondays and Bank Holidays.
