Connect to Work

Walsall Works logo

Connect to Work is a free and voluntary employment programme for people who have a disability, long-term health condition or other barriers that make finding or keeping a job more difficult.

Delivered by Walsall Works, the programme provides one-to-one support from a dedicated Employment Advisor. Your Employment Advisor will work with you to:

  • understand your goals and identify any challenges
  • help you move into paid employment, or stay in work

How we can help

Our advisors can support you to:

  • build confidence and prepare for work
  • find jobs that match your skills, interests and ambitions
  • understand any support or reasonable adjustments you may need
  • speak with employers about opportunities and workplace support
  • provide ongoing support after starting work to help you succeed in your role

You’ll receive a personalised plan based on your individual circumstances and career goals.

Who can access Connect to Work

You may be eligible if you:

  • live in Walsall
  • have a disability, health condition or learning difficulty
  • are unemployed and looking for work, or
  • are in work but need support to stay in your job

We’ll discuss your circumstances and confirm if the programme is right for you.

What makes Connect to Work different

Connect to Work uses the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach.
We help you find paid work as quickly as possible, with tailored support to help you stay in work.

You may get more support than with other programmes. We work with local services, employers and support networks to help you overcome barriers and reach your employment goals.
