Report an infection in a care home

If you’re a care home manager or staff member, reporting cases of infection helps reduce the risk of infections, and keeps residents, staff and visitors safe.

Conditions you need to report

You can find the full list of notifiable diseases on the government's website.

When to report an infection

You should report:

  • when 2 or more people are affected with the same disease
  • single cases of certain diseases
  • contamination events

All other infections

To report a non-ARI outbreak or get specialist support, contact the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA):
