Household Support Fund

Councils across the country have been provided with funding through the Household Support Scheme. This is to support households on a low income with food and utilities whilst the cost of living is increasing.

The Government has extended funding for a further six months from April to September 2024. We are currently considering how we can use this to support our most vulnerable residents. We expect to have a new process by the middle of May when further updates will be announced.

We're also:

• offering proactive support through the transitional leaving care (care leavers) team, early help team and energy efficiency team
• giving additional support for certain households in rented accommodation and in risk of eviction due to rent arrears
• providing additional debt advice support
