Partnership working in Walsall
Local agencies, including Walsall Council, West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Services, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, Walsall's Clinical Commissioning Group, local housing providers and our voluntary and community sector, are all working hard to deliver the best services while maximising the public value obtained from existing community assets including local community venues and schools.
Partnership working is important in Walsall; it will only be through strong collaborative work that local agencies continue to deliver better outcomes for and within our local communities.
The borough of Walsall, and the agencies working within it, need to respond to growing and changing demand, to improve social outcomes and create inclusive growth and prosperity.
A joined-up approach is required to cut across the traditional service divide and geographical boundaries and the traditional relationship we have had with borough residents and the services we provide to them.
Our targeted approach
These are indeed challenging times, but our strong track record of partnership working means we are well placed to respond. Walsall's targeted approach is aimed at:
- Supporting business to thrive and supporting local people into work
- Improving health, including wellbeing and independence for older people
- Creating safe and sustainable communities, reducing levels of crime and providing the right environment for people to live in
- Improving safeguarding and the learning and life chances for children and young people, recognising that a person's early years are crucial in helping to determine what kind of future they have and to ensure they are appropriately supported into adulthood
It is with this clarity of purpose we are committing ourselves with our partners and we recognise we can only do this by working with local communities. We will continue to do this through our six Area Partnerships.
Together, partnership working across the borough will ensure that Walsall remains a great place to live, learn, work and invest.
