Walsall Council has created a flagship, central hub of cultural and social learning. It incorporates the central library, local history and archive collections, and has brought the Lichfield Street building back to its former glory.
The building was remodelled and refurbished, and many original features restored. The grade II listed building was transformed to incorporate the local history centre and archives, lending, reference and children’s libraries, a coffee shop and ICT lounge. It has created a single leisure, cultural and learning hub.
Our libraries offer an open door to information, reading, imagination, learning and culture - enhancing people's lives and supporting the growth and health of our community.
