  • Introduction to the WEB:

The Walsall Economic Board (WEB) comprises of members from the Walsall business community alongside education and wellbeing partners from the Health & Wellbeing Board and The Safer Walsall Partnership, The Children and Young People’s Partnership and the Housing Board.

  • History of the WEB:

The WEB held its first meeting in 2012, to provide an effective forum consisting of local private and public sector employers. The WEB now meet every 6 weeks. Click here to access the agendas/minutes of these meetings.


  • Purpose and Ambitions of the WEB:

Providing an effective forum that truly represents Walsall’s key employment sectors  as set out within the Walsall Economic Framework. Click here to download the full Walsall Economic Framework.

In summary the WEB :

-             Aid the creation of a business environment that supports job creation

-             Help to ensure that local people possess the skills required to enter and progress in work

-             Support the development of high quality Apprenticeship’s across Walsall. 


To aid in this work the Walsall Economic Board has formed and supports two key groups;

The Employment & Skills Board – this brings together key training, educational and workforce providers, including (please add a link to membership details here), with its terms of reference available (add link).

The Health & Economic Board – Formed in 2018, this group brings together members from the Walsall Economic Board and the Health & Wellbeing Board to work on the development and prosecution of key initiatives capable of supporting employees in the workplace to maintain, and where required improve their health and working lifespan. Together with initiatives that can support improvements in local people’s health to compete for and sustain employment.


  • Who are the WEB members:

WEB numbers have grown from strength to strength and now consists of 21 members, including: Jhoots Pharmacy, ZF Lemforder, Homeserve, Barhale Construction, Fortel Construction, Maloney Metalcraft (Avingtrains plc), Walsall College, Wolverhampton University, Walsall Council, One Walsall and The Midcounties Co-operative.
