Rob Beck

Employment & Skills Officer

Rob joined Walsall Council on 1st March 2017 as an Employment & Skills Officer on the Employment & Skills Team. His main focus is to promote Black Country Impact (BCI) and Walsall Works (WW) to businesses across the Borough.

To accomplish this, Rob engages with businesses primarily with vacancies, apprenticeships or work placements to then match against the BCI and WW cohorts that were registered with us seeking work. As well as direct recruitment I also offer pre-employment training courses to equip candidates with the skills needed by a business, usually where there is multiple vacancies. I organise jobs and skills events either generic or sector specific or packaged for certain groups for instance I organised an event purely for customers with either a physical or hidden disability. I also assist with skills support for businesses as well as promoting social value initiatives.
