WSP Webinar: Domestic Abuse in Light of Covid-19
Webinar: Domestic Abuse in Light of Covid-19
This is a recorded Webinar that took place on Friday 24th April 2020
Our collaborative approach to the development of our transformation programme to improve our services to support the right children, at the right time is even more important in the current climate.
The current coronavirus emergency has resulted in a number of significant changes to our daily lives, including the lives of children and young people and the way in which we are able to provide help and support. We are expecting to see a change in the requests for help and support and as practitioners we may at times find it challenging to know where to go to ensure families can access the right help.
Following discussions with key partners locally and regionally we are anticipating an increased demand around conflict in the household and domestic violence and have started proactive planning on how we can best respond to this demand effectively in Walsall.
As a result we held a webinar on the 24th April with the aim to:
- Provide a current overview of the issues around DA nationally and locally in light of social distancing measures.
- Provide an overview of offer of support that is available in each locality and how to access these.
- Have a live question and answer session.
Panel members included representative of Police, Black Country Women’s Aid and Locality Hubs and Children’s Services.
