All public rights of way have been surveyed and recorded on a definitive map and statement, which provides conclusive evidence that a way shown is a public right of way. The definitive map and statement confirms the start point, end point, length and classification, (i.e. footpath for use on foot, bridleway for use on foot and horse, or byway, for use on foot, horse and sometimes motor propelled vehicles), of all paths shown.
The Definitive Map and Statement is available for public inspection at First Stop Shop, Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall WS1 1DG during opening hours, Monday to Friday. It is recommended that you contact us 48 hours in advance if you wish to view the Definitive Map and statement to ensure officer availability to assist with your enquiry and that it can be obtained from Central Records during your visit.
Public rights of way are also available to view on the council website View The Working Copy of Walsall's Definitive Map . Please note that this is not the definitive map and for the most up to date information you are recommended to contact us.
Cycle tracks are not shown on the definitive map and statement. You can find out more about cycling and a map of cycle routes on our cycling page.
