Registration of planning applications
Due to the high volume of general inquiries and numbers of applications recently submitted, there is currently a delay in validating and processing applications. We are seeking to address this situation as quickly as possible and recognise this as a priority for the department.
Applications will be made valid and the start date will be from the date all the necessary information has been received by the Council to make the application valid. Therefore it is important that you refer to the Validation Checklist
before you submit your planning application.
Help and Support
Use the Planning Portal Help Centre to support you with completing your online application. You can use the Help Centre if you encounter a problem filling out an application or have a query with how to use the Portal website.
Consents not available through the online system
The below link takes you to a list of consents that are not available through the online system. A paper application form will need to be printed and submitted to the Authority with the necessary plans / documents.
Notices under Article 13
If you complete Certificate B, C or D on the application form then you will be required to print and serve a notice under article 13 on individuals, a copy of your completed notice needs to be submitted as part of your application.
Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may need to notify the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and you may have other duties as well.
