Planning advice for small developments

We provide a service to help you with your planning application. You can send us your documents and we will assess them before you apply, identifying potential problems early and advising on how to address them, giving you the best chance of success.

 

What to send us

And it would be helpful, but not essential, if you could also provide:

  • drawings and photographs to describe the site / building as existing
  • drawings to describe the proposal

How much it costs

5 or more dwellings £234 (inc VAT)
500sqm or more of new floor space £234 (inc VAT)
All mineral or waste applications
(other than for minor operational developments such as small ancillary buildings)
£234 (inc VAT)

 

What happens after you submit your documents

Within 14 days of receiving a request, a planning case officer will contact you to confirm:

  • the name(s) of the planning officer(s) who will be handling your enquiry
  • any additional information that is needed
  • if your proposal requires a meeting – a request for a meeting can be declined, if it is not considered either appropriate or necessary

You will receive our advice in writing.

Please Note: The final decision on planning applications may be made by the Planning Committee and in some cases delegated to senior officers. You should, therefore, be aware that we are unable to offer any guarantees about the decision that will be made on your application(s).
