This is a new service - your feedback will help us to improve it.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering lets you gain experience, it is good for your wellbeing and mental health, it helps your local community and is a great way to meet new people.

We are always looking for volunteers to support different areas of activity in our parks and green spaces.

Delivery roles

Interested in leading a community activity? You could volunteer to become one of our community health walk / Nordic walking or Couch to 5k leaders. We provide full training and support to help you become qualified and to start a new session. For more details, please contact us.

Do you have an interest in conservation? Projects for conservation volunteers happen regularly. To add your name to our growing list of volunteers, contact the healthy spaces team for more information about what is happening locally. Please contact us for more details.

Are you interested in volunteering as a litter picker? You can give your support individually or by taking part in group events. Find out more about our litter picking scheme or contact us.

We can also offer signposting to local community groups if you have skills that you want to use, but are not sure where to start. For example: Someone who is looking to volunteer as a caterer, could volunteer at a local sports clubs that provides teas / after match food. For more details, please contact us.

We offer regular training opportunities alongside partners to improve the knowledge and skills needed for volunteering. Whether that is a course on safeguarding or one on first aid, we support you in your training needs. For more details, please contact us .
