Walsall Council has secured funding of £144,000 to stop rogue landlords in targeted areas of the borough who are cynically letting shoddy and unsafe properties to tenants, who are often new to the UK and feel unable to challenge them.
Late on Friday emails were sent out to around 30.000 residents inviting them to check and update information that appears on the electoral register for their address.
Please do look out for the email, in case it goes to your junk folder. It will show as 'Elecreg on behalf of Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council <firstname.lastname@example.org>'.

Please be aware of a scam phone call targeting elderly residents in which an organisation claims to be acting on behalf of the council to collect council tax. The caller claims the resident’s council tax band has been incorrectly assessed and the resident is in arrears, and asks for a lesser amount to be paid immediately over the phone to write off the arrears. This is a fraudulent call.
Please be aware that the annual Aldridge Running Club 5k and 10k road races will be taking place on Sunday 9 June 2019. Please read on for road closures.
