Foster Care Fortnight 2019

Foster Care Fortnight is the UK’s biggest annual fostering campaign which aims to showcase how foster care transforms lives. This year, Foster Care Fortnight started on 13 May and runs until 26 May and Walsall Council is holding a number of events to provide information to those interested in becoming foster carers.

Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) conducted a joint inspection of the local area of Walsall in terms of services and support for children and young people with special education needs and / or disabilities.  Read on for the joint statement from Walsall Council and Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in response to this recently published report.

A new film about the challenges and rewards of fostering has been launched.

The five minute film ‘truth be told’, has been launched by 14 local authorities across the Midlands and looks at the true stories of two sets of children and their foster carers.

Pledge to stop abuse on CSE awareness day

People in Walsall are being urged to unite against child sexual exploitation (CSE) and make a personal pledge to help tackle the abuse.

Councils across the West Midlands, including Walsall Council, along with West Midlands Police, are supporting national CSE awareness day today Monday 18 March.

Organised by the national charity NWG Network, which is dedicated to helping combat CSE, the day aims to encourage everyone to think, spot and speak out against abuse.
