Walsall’s popular Continental Street Market will be returning to Park Street this summer, bringing the sights, smells and tastes of the continent to the town. The market opens on Wednesday 10 August and runs until Saturday 13 August, from 10:00 – 18:00.

There will be tasty street food from around the world, tempting treats from artisan producers and quirky craft items to have a look at, and on Saturday 13 August there will even be dinosaurs roaming the market!

Ranger Rick will be paying a visit to the market with Ralph the Raptor and Trixie the Triceratops to meet and greet everyone that comes along. There will even be a big, surprise special guest roaming around too – pop down and see if you can spot them.

Ranger Rick and his prehistoric pals will be at the market from 11:00 – 15:00 and sessions will be for 30 minutes with no need to book, and no fee.

Alongside the Continental Street Market on Saturday 13 August will be a teenage market, giving young traders and performers a chance to showcase their creative products and talents for free.

Walsall market will also be running Wednesday – Saturday.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Regeneration at Walsall Council, said, “This is an excellent event to encourage young people into the town centre and support their creativity and aspiration. It will be great to see a vibrant market and high street in Walsall”

Narinder Singh Chumber, Markets Operational Manager at Walsall Council, said, “The market is an important part of Walsall’s history and lots of people come from all around the borough to enjoy it. The Continental Street Market will be a fantastic, vibrant event that I hope will attract lots of people and the addition of the Teenage Market on Saturday 13 August is hoped to encourage more young people to come along. There will be fun for all the family with dinosaurs and funfair rides to enjoy, as well as a wide range of vibrant stalls.”
