Walsall business owners prosecuted for recurrent mice infestation

Owners of a grocery store on Milton Street, Walsall have been prosecuted by Walsall Council and between them fined over £2,220 at the Black Country Magistrates Court for operating a food business from premises that were infested with mice.


 

Plans are unveiled to bring forward free bulky collections trial

At its meeting in September, Walsall Council’s Cabinet approved plans to launch a free bulky collections trial in the Summer of 2019.  Councillor Louise Harrison, Portfolio Holder for Clean and Green, asked Cabinet last night (October 24) if they would agree to bring this trial forward to early Nomember 2018 - a move which was uninamously supported.

Walsall Council’s annual Food Law Enforcement Service plan was put before Cabinet for consideration last night (October 24). The comprehensive one year plan explains the role of the borough’s food enforcement service and evidences how statutory food hygiene standards are maintained, or improved and where they are robustly enforced to protect the public.
