COVID-19 new restrictions from 05 November: Parks, green spaces and children’s playgrounds

Our many parks, green spaces and children’s playgrounds across the borough remain open; however, in line with the new government guidelines, outdoor gyms and tennis courts and skate parks in the borough are closed. Whilst in general you must not meet socially in any setting under the new restrictions, you can exercise or meet in a public, or at an outdoor setting with people you live with, your support bubble, or with one other person.

Children under the age of five and people with a disability who are dependent on round-the-clock care are not counted towards the limit of two people meeting outside. Please note during the national lockdown, the rule of 6 no longer applies.

Therefore wider green spaces activities such as ‘Couch to 5 K’, walking groups and any larger activities such as park runs will not be taking place in our parks and green spaces during the lockdown period.

Updates can be found on the council’s website
