From 8 August it will be law to wear face coverings in indoor settings including beauty salons, hairdressers, museums, community centres and places of worship. It is already compulsory to wear them in shops, supermarkets and on public transport.

From Saturday 1 August the HWRCs at Merchants Way, Aldridge, and Fryers Road, Bloxwich, will be open seven days a week with an enhanced service.

Visitors to the sites from Saturday 1 August will see that barriers and fencing have been removed. This allows additional vehicle parking bays and, with controls in place, once out of their vehicles, people will be allowed to move around the sites again via pedestrian walkways to segregate their recycling and waste in different skips and containers.

The two Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) in the borough successfully reopened on Saturday 16 May 2020, with limited operations and strict social distancing measures in place, in line with government guidance. Now, plans are in place to reopen both HWRCs at Merchants Way, Aldridge, and Fryers Road, Bloxwich, seven days a week from 1 August with an enhanced service.
