Since lockdown was introduced in March, the council and its partners have continued to prioritise and deliver key services in the borough, as well as protect and support those in Walsall who most need our help. This key work will also continue, as needed, as lockdown restrictions are eased.
Our Walsall partnership response to the pandemic has been a collective and co-ordinated effort. It puts teamwork and a ‘can do’ attitude at the heart of our public and community service approach and helps develop resilient communities. To date 7,534 community referrals and responses have been co-ordinated by the ‘Making Connections Walsall’ referral system, with volunteer projects helping to deliver 4,475 food parcels to homes that need them.
