Help shape the future for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Published on 21 September 2022 Print

Parents and carers of children with additional needs are invited to join one of the ‘Working Together: In our hands’ events made available by the Early Help team.

These events have been arranged to help shape the services and future for the children of Walsall with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families and carers in collaboration by bringing together ideas, sharing good practice and working to make positive changes.

Councillor Timothy Wilson Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said, “We value the opinions and feedback of parents and families supporting our children and young people with SEND and these events are one way in which we intend to work in partnership with them to help shape and develop the offer in the borough.”

“It is important that families make sure their views are heard so that we can develop support as part of the Local Offer Partnership to get the best possible outcomes for children and young people in Walsall.”

The events are being offered in partnership with Walsall’s parent carer forum, Families And Carers Empowered (FACE) and there will be information available from a range of agencies including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support (SENDIAS).
