Walsall Swim Academy

Welcome to Walsall Swim Academy - offering lessons for children, toddlers & babies,
following the Swimming Teachers Association (STA) Syllabus.

 

Our qualified instructors will be working with groups to build confidence in the water and perfecting technique. Our courses run continuously so you can enrol your child at any point by booking a 10 week course. Our range of ability groups mean that we have the right class for your child, whatever their age or experience.

Starfish

Introducing babies from birth into the pool in an adult and child setting. Developing water confidence, basic swimming and safety skills through fun games and song.

Beginners 3 - 4 years

Learners develop basic swimming strokes and water skills. Classes are fun, engaging and help to develop water confidence.

Beginners 5 -8 years

Essential movement and swimming skills are developed alongside water safety, Working towards the removal of aids and swiming 5 metres.

Stanley 5

For children who can swim 2 meters on front and back without floatation aids. Strokes are developed further, working towards 5 metres.

Stanley Stars

All strokes are developed to include breathing techniques and other aquatic strokes are introduced. Working towards 10 metres.

Goldfish

All strokes and breathing techniques are fine tuned as children work towards 15 metres.

Angelfish

Working towards 25 mteres further refining stroke technique and skills such as sculling. Entries into the water are performed and developed.

Shark

Developing finer stroke technique alongside personal survival and water safety skills. Working towards 50 metres, 100 metres and 200 metres. Introducing basic rescue skills to create a fully competent swimmer.

Advanced Swimmer

Comprising of four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Working through the series the series the learner will perfect their swimming technique and develop rescue skills.

Junior Lifeguard Academy Learning a range of lifesaving skills and practices using swimming, reaching and throwing rescues.
Rockhopper

Introducing learners with disabilities to the joy of water. The series develops water confidence and water skills as well as increasing water safety.

The home portal is a fabulous way to get a real insight to the progress of your child's swimming.

By creating a home portal account, you will be able to view:

  • ​Content of the stage, techniques and progress made.
  • The swimming techniques that need to be practiced.

By registering for the home portal, we can keep in contact and inform you when:

  • A badge has been passed.
  • It is time to move a class. The system allows you to choose an available class and move ready for the next lesson.
  • The next payment is due for your 10 week block, or that a Direct Debit is active.
     

Walsall Swim Academy Prices

Our continuous courses run all year round with the exception of two weeks during christmas and bank holidays.

  • Full price for a 10 week block of lessons is £50.00 for both adults and junior not on our direct debit scheme. 
  • Monthly direct debit price is £20.00 per month. Every child will receive FREE access to public sessions.
  • 1-2-1 lessons are also available for £15.00 per 30 minute session.

How To Book

Please call a member of the reception team at your prefered centre who can advise you on the right class for your child and to book a place on our Academy, our lessons take place at; Bloxwich Active Living Centre, Darlaston Swimming and Fitness Centre, Oak Park Active Living Centre in Walsall Wood and Walsall Gala Swimming and Fitness Centre.
